I love fashion and I do stand up comedy on the side 🙂

How did you get into recruiting?

I came in to interview for a receptionist role and ended hitting it off with my new boss 🙂 She took me under her wing and developed me so much. I cant imagine anything else

Why would a fashion industry job seeker want to work at/with your company?

We offer multiple brands and opportunities, we promote within and we have 3pm Friday 🙂

What types of fashion industry positions do you recruit for?

Design, Sales, Tech, Production, Operations, you name it we do it!

What sources do you use the most to find fashion industry talent? (jobboards, newspapers, social media, personal networking, colleges, etc…)

JOB BOARDS!! They rock! Also networking and social media help a lot.

What are some common misconceptions job seekers have about your job?

That I get a commission on them and that why I’m nice to them. I’m nice because I care about the candidate experience.

What should job seekers know about your job as a recruiter?

I only want what is best for the candidate.

What are some of the most common mistakes fashion industry job seekers make when looking/applying/interviewing/etc… for a job?

Not realizing that they have to put in the work and that people aren’t just named ‘designer’

What’s the craziest thing a job seeker has ever said to you?

They asked me how much I made annually…

What’s the most inappropriate thing you’ve seen on a resume?

Just some crazy formatting, nothing too outrageous.

What advice do you have for younger job seekers?

DON’T just take a job, wait for the right one. You don’t want to be stuck and unhappy at work.

What advice do you have for older job seekers?

BE TRANSPARENT!

Why are you looking, what can you bring to the brands.

What are some common mistakes fashion industry job seekers make during the job search process? Resumes/Cover Letters/Correspondence/Applications/Follow-up/Interview/etc…

Applying for EVERY role. If you are a designer apply to that, if you are production apply for that. You might end up in a department you hate.
