DIRECTOR OF PLANNING- Industry leader in the design, distribution of apparel/loungewear is seeking a Director of Planning to join their corporate office

Responsibilities:

• Analyze merchandise strategies and create financial reports. Make recommendations for sales, inventory, markdowns, and margins

• Forecast projected financial results; Work closely and efficiently with the Sales Department for input on open line styles and provide Senior Management with the underlying analysis to support forecasts.

• Work with Merchandising to gain understanding of key aspects of new programs.

• Monitor performance of all styles and identify key performers as well as slow moving items.

• Prepare analysis to aid in negotiation of margin support.

• Recap and analyze sales results to plan and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis and ad hoc basis

• Experience in managing replenishment programs with Wal-Mart and other major retailers is highly desired.

• Expert command of retail math concepts and applications with a full working knowledge of all metrics regarding Inventory turns and Gross Profit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field

• 7- 10 years of merchandise planning experience

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (use of Pivot tables, vlookup)

• Excellent organizational, prioritizing and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work well within a team environment.
