Tell us a little about yourself.Heather_edited
HJ:
I am a Luxury Junior Recruiter at Pyramid Consulting Group. My background is in sales management and fashion marketing. This career experience has enabled me with the ability to identify and place top talent in luxury fashion roles. My primary focus here at PCG is to establish strong relationships with my candidates within various business areas of the luxury brand market.

How did you get into recruiting?
HJ:
Prior to joining PCG, I was running my own luxury consignment business for five years whilst pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Marketing. After graduation, I figured why not put all of my real-life experiences and academic knowledge to use. So here I am at PCG working diligently to help my candidates find awesome job opportunities to help propel or create their careers.

Why would a fashion industry job seeker want to work at/with Pyramid Consulting Group?
HJ:
When working with a fashion recruiter here at PCG, you can anticipate the following:

  1. Flexibility So you’re a recent grad and not sure where you’d like to kick off your career. Working with a recruitment agency helps you gain access to both temporary and permanent opportunities.
  2. Finding the “Perfect Fit” Well here at PGC we really take the time to get to know our candidates and take into consideration your “wish list” when trying to help find you job opportunities. We are not paper pushers, so in addition to matching your qualifications for a role, we also consider whether or not you will be happy in the position.
  3. Saving Time Working with a recruiter helps you save a significant amount of time in your job search. We work with a wide array of clients who are actively seeking candidates to fill jobs.
  4. Coaching Does interviewing make you nervous? Not sure what to wear? Working with a recruiter makes the interviewing process much more seamless and comfortable.

What types of fashion industry positions do you recruit for?
HJ:
I recruit on all level positions from retail to corporate. This can include anything from a sales associate to a marketing director, or even an executive assistant for a major luxury brand.

What sources do you use the most to find fashion industry talent?
HJ:
Style Careers of course always has amazing talent.  However I definitely utilize both my physical and virtual network on social media and other job boards.

What are some common misconceptions job seekers have about your job?
HJ:
That I will be their final resource in their job search, and I will absolutely find them their dream job. Although this would be ideal, I can never guarantee a candidate that I will find them a job; however I do make a concerted effort to do so.

What should job seekers know about your job as a recruiter?
HJ: Job seekers should know that as a recruiter I always keep their best interest in mind when seeking out new opportunities for them. I am aware of your wish list, and will always reach out regarding positions that I believe would be a good fit. However, if I don’t reach out, it isn’t because I’ve forgotten about you. It is because I have come across anything that speaks to your experience and or interests. Always remain positive and open-minded in the job search process, the perfect role will come!
